Memorial Day at Sacred Rocks

We  had the best turnout EVER at Sacred Rocks RV Park for Memorial Day weekend (23-35 May 2009).

Here are transcriptions of handwritten notes left by happy campers:

Prepping for the Parade

“Thank you and all of the Sacred Rocks Reserve staff for a wonderful weekend. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. The hiking trails are great. The rec room kitchen was clean and comfortable. We all enjoyed ourselves and we will be back next year.” – Huggy Bunch

“Sacred Rocks Reserve is a great place to go to recharge your batteries away from the rat race of the city. NO STOP LIGHTS & LOTS OF FUN!” – Paul Dugas

“This [is] our 5th year & we love the trails for offroad vehicles.” – Ronnie & Jeannie Golden

“We had a good time. The staff were very nice and helpful.” – Ty :-)

Don’t miss more family fun during Father’s Day weekend at Sacred Rocks Reserve!

With deepest Respect for our Military

We would like to give something back.  We know that at times there is a great need for decompression from stress at the same time as perhaps a financial stress.  Follow this link for a goodie: Military Discount at Sacred Rocks RV Park

There is something healing about being in the beautiful nature, no matter the weather.  Where else can you rest under a 400 year old tree?  Where else can you string up a hammock and just let go of self?  Where is there a place of quiet?  People who come often re-connect with their families.  Others simply enjoy being safe and sound and chatting around a campfire with friends.

Are Border Patrol Auxilliary Patriotic or What?

Recently there has been a lot of local activity of the Border Patrol Auxilliary group. They have been using the park as a gathering point for the last few weeks. A lot of them have also been staying very close by while they go to their assign monitoring spots. This weekend we expect a media blitz to cover their current activities. No one else at the park seems to mind their presence. Would like to know if any of our visitors have any comments about their presence or activities.

One “Border Patrol Auxilliary” stayed next to our campsite instead of with the larger group and we invited him over for happy hour. We were fascinated by his stories and exeriences as a Border Patrol Auxilliary. The next day we offered him hot coffee and he shared with us his “findings” while out on the midnight patrol. Our conversations led to the exchanging of our respective personal emailaddresses and we look forward to hearing from our new “friend”.

This is the spirit that made America great. We have erred in that we forgot that we must continue to fight to keep what our forefathers gained. Many fought even unto death.
Tennessee loves you and we are grateful for what you are doing.

Anonymous said… We too are looking at your website and blog after seeing a workamper ad, and would also view the support of Border Patrol Auxilliary activities as a very negative aspect of your park. I really would not want to have to listen to anyone talk about their activities; do not approve of what they’re doing. Glad you give the opportunity to comment.

Anonymous said… We have no problem with the Border Patrol Auxilliary being in/near your RV park. They are doing a service to our country.
We have visited your park briefly, and will be spending our first weekend there this weekend (3/10/07) and can’t wait. Your RV park is really nice.

Floyd Beatty said… I had some negative ideas about the Border Patrol Auxilliary at first and after getting to know these men and women, I find them just regular people who care deeply about a problem and involve themselves in a solution at great time and expense. I’m glad they are here!

Anonymous said… My wife and I have been thinking about visiting this RV Park for the first time this weekend. After reading these blogs about the Border Patrol Auxilliary staying here, we will DEFINITELY come visit over the next 2 days! THANK YOU Minutemen for trying to protect our country while our own government (Both Republicans and Democrats) does nothing but incentivize illegals to break our laws and illegally cross the border and then reward them with free medical care, free education and even welfare! And to add insult to injury, the LONGER an illegal has broken our laws the better chance we will grant them amnesty! We live in an Upside-Down, illogically-thinking country. When we visit this weekend, I hope my RV site is surrounded by Border Patrol Auxilliary! They are the TRUE American heros.
