Blooming Sumac in the back country

dsc01800

close- up view of sumac flowers

We were told that this beautiful blooming plant was a variety of sumac, but we are unsure if this is so.  We were also wondering if this plant is poisonous?  We welcome your expertise, comments and insights here.

To view the abundance of flowering shrubs and bushes that can be found while hiking the back country trails of our  RV Park and Reserve please visit our Picasa Wildflowers album.

Dirty, lowdown, sneaky, coward….

Yep, someone slashed our banners. We work hard, Dimitri and I, to build our business into something we are proud of, a vacation place in the beautiful outdoors. We paid hard-earned money to buy these banners announcing Vacation Cottages for Sale.

Angry lowlife!

A friend peeks through the gaping slashes left by an angry lowlife.

Who would do such a thing? Who is such an angry lowlife? May the fleas of ten thousand camels rest in their body hair! May they have no rest until they make restitution. May they lose every game they play. May they be brought to justice!

Another nearby sign that advertised property for sale, owned by a real estate company, was discovered destroyed and discarded in a ravine on the same day.

We and the other party would appreciate any information regarding the person or persons who committed these willful acts of destruction and vandalism. Please contact us at 619-766-4480 or toll free at 800-703-0009. Or the San Diego County Sheriff’s office at 858-565-5200.

S N O W this morning!

What a beautiful morning to wake to snow on the ground. Not enough to bother, just enough to enjoy. Probably will melt soon. Maybe more next weekend!

Manzanita Tree Blooms in January

The last weekend in January was absolutely perfect.  Clear, blue skies, 74°F degrees, not a breath of wind, balmy on your skin.  The photo is of a gorgeous manzanita tree in full bloom.  See the tree in its glory.  A wilted branch, green new leaves and thousands of flowers blooming.  Made me think of all of the bad news and our economy and our country.  Changing, ever changing.  Some parts wilted, some parts with new growth, and some parts just now unfolding.  I hope for a blooming time in our country in the near future.  In the meantime, I delight in the unfolding of our beautiful Reserve.

If anyone who visits has photos of plants in bloom in the Reserve, we will be delighted to post them.
